The table shows points (x, y
)
A point in a coordinate plane is named by its ordered pair of the form of (x, y). The first number corresponds to the x-coordinates and the second to the y-coordinate.
The x-coordinate tells to move along horizontally, left to right or right to left, it tells the horizontal position.
The y-coordinate tells to move along vertically, up down up, it tells you the vertical position of a point.
A vertical line goes up and down, and a horizontal line goes across (left to right). You can remember which direction is vertical by the letter, "v," which points down.
